BEFORE YOU BOOK ANYONE

How to know you are choosing the right electrician.

A quote that does not say what it covers, a licence nobody checked, no certificate at the end. That is where problems start, and none of it is on you. Six things to check before you book anyone, including us.

A licence number on the quote

Every electrical contractor in Queensland must hold one. Ask for it, and check it on the Queensland electrical licence register before anyone starts.

A quote that says what is included

It should say what is included, what is not, and what happens if the job turns out bigger than first thought.

A time you can plan around

An arrival window, and a message if that changes.

A test and a certificate at the end

In Queensland, electrical installation work has to be tested, and you should be given a certificate of test. Ask for it.

Fittings chosen for Townsville conditions

Heat, humidity, salt air and insects shorten the life of the wrong fitting. Ask why a light, fan or switch was recommended for its position.

Someone to call afterwards

A number that gets answered, and a follow-up on how the job went.

Mountain Man electrician and service vehicle, Townsville

How we meet each one.

The same six, in the same order, with what you get. Working in Townsville homes since 2018.

  1. 01

    Licence 88209 on every quote

Electrical Contractor Licence 88209, and ARC licence AU59000 for air conditioning. Every electrician on the team holds a Blue Card.

  2. 02

The price agreed before we start

Quotes are free with no obligation. If the job grows once we are in the roof, we stop and talk to you first.

  3. 03

    A message before we arrive

The visit is arranged with you, and we send a text on the way so you are not waiting on the day.

  4. 04

Tested, with the certificate in your hand

Every installation is tested when it is finished, and you get the certificate of test for your records.

  5. 05

    Fittings picked for North Queensland

Fittings are chosen for durability in heat and humidity, with bug mesh on internal parts where needed. Everything we supply carries a manufacturer warranty, and if it fails inside that period we handle the replacement.

  6. 06

A follow-up call after the job

We call afterwards to ask how it went. If anything needs attention, we come back.

We talk it through and quote

We call or message to confirm what is involved. Some jobs need a look first before we can price them.

Questions before you book.

How much will the electrical work cost?

It depends on the job, the fittings and how easy the wiring is to reach. Quotes are free, and you get a written price before anyone starts. Several jobs done in one visit are priced together.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes. A single power point gets the same licensed electrician as a rewire, and small work is booked and done properly rather than pushed to the bottom of the list.

Can you install fittings I have already bought?

Yes, as long as the fitting is compliant and suitable for where it is going. We will tell you before we start if it is not, and we cannot warrant a product we did not supply.

Will all my jobs be finished in one visit?

Usually. Send the full list when you enquire so the right parts are on the van. Jobs that need a part ordered or a second person are booked in as a second visit.

Do you offer emergency electrical work?

Call us for anything dangerous, like sparks, a burning smell or the power out across the house. Do not use the form for those. Emergency call-outs are for existing customers.

Do you offer warranties on your work?

Yes. Our warranty covers the labour and most of the products we supply. How long it runs depends on the product, and we tell you before the job starts. If a product we supplied fails inside its warranty, we handle the replacement.

How often should a home have an electrical inspection?

Every few years for most homes, and sooner for anything built before the 1980s, anything with a fuse board, or before you add solar or air conditioning. An electrical health check covers the board, the wiring and the safety switches.
