Solar & Battery Installation

Residential & commercial solar and battery systems designed to work the way your property actually uses energy.

At Mountain Man Electrical, we design and install solar + battery systems that are efficient, reliable, and tailored to your site. Every system is built to integrate seamlessly with your existing electrical setup and support long-term energy performance.

Systems designed for real energy use

Our solar and battery systems aren’t off-the-shelf packages. They’re engineered based on how your home or business actually consumes power.

We consider your usage patterns, site conditions, and future needs to design a system that:

  • Works efficiently year-round
  • Integrates cleanly with your existing setup
  • Supports long-term performance and reliability
  • Gives you more control over your energy use

From residential homes to commercial sites, every installation is approached with the same level of detail and care.

Solar and battery solutions that work together

Solar panels generate energy during the day – but most properties use the most power in the morning and evening.

Battery storage bridges that gap.

By storing excess solar energy, a battery allows you to:

  • Use more of the energy you generate
  • Reduce reliance on the grid
  • Better manage peak demand
  • Improve overall energy efficiency

Battery systems can be installed as part of a new system or added to an existing solar setup, depending on compatibility.

Our Process

We keep the process simple, transparent, and technical from the start – so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Site visit

Our team will meet you at your property to:

  • Inspect your switchboard, including capacity, condition, and compliance
  • Review roof condition, access, shading, and screw lines
  • Discuss system options based on your home and energy needs

This is also your opportunity to ask questions and explore suitable products.

From the first visit, you’ll deal directly with a licensed electrician – ensuring a thorough technical understanding of your site and system from day one.

Quote

We’ll provide a clear, itemised quote for review and approval.

Your quote includes:

  • Transparent pricing
  • System details and inclusions
  • Any eligible rebates, including the Cheaper Home Battery Program (if applicable)

Book installation

Once approved, we’ll schedule your installation.

Installation is typically available within 1–2 weeks, subject to:

  • Required approvals (e.g. Ergon Energy)
  • Material availability

Installation & handover

Installation

On installation day, our team will:

  • Install solar panels (if included)
  • Install and integrate your battery system
  • Complete all electrical connections, testing, and commissioning
  • Ensure the system is operating safely and as designed

On-site handover

At handover, your Lead Installer – a licensed and experienced electrician – will walk you through your system, including:

  • How to monitor performance and battery status
  • How to safely shut down your system
  • Key safety considerations
  • Basic troubleshooting

We allow approximately 30–60 minutes for handover and encourage you to ask questions.

The better you understand your system before we leave, the more confidence you’ll have moving forward.

Our preferred solar panels

We use the TW Solar Full Black Series – a panel we trust based on performance, durability, and long-term value.

Why we recommend it:

  • Dual-glass construction for added strength and longevity
  • Strong performance in Australian conditions
  • Clean, full black design for a cohesive roof appearance
  • Backed by long product and performance warranties

For homeowners, it’s a balance of durability, street appeal, and resale value.

Choosing the right inverter and battery

There’s no one-size-fits-all inverter — the right choice depends on your budget, performance expectations, and how you plan to use your system over time.

The inverter is the core of your solar and battery setup. It controls how energy is converted, used, and stored — and it also determines which battery systems are compatible. Getting this right from the start is key to long-term performance.

Based on our experience, we recommend three trusted options:

GoodWe – balanced performance

A reliable, mid-range option that suits most households.

  • Excellent value for money
  • Proven performance across a wide range of systems
  • User-friendly monitoring via the SEMS Portal
  • Strong warranty support and local presence

This is the most popular choice for customers wanting a dependable system without overinvesting.

Sigenergy – modern and flexible

A newer, feature-rich system designed for flexibility and future upgrades.

  • Advanced, AI-driven monitoring via the mySigen App
  • Seamless battery integration and upgradeability
  • Modern design with strong performance capabilities
  • Well-suited to homes planning to expand their system over time

A great option if you want a more advanced system with future-ready features.

Sungrow – proven and dependable

A premium “set and forget” option built for long-term reliability.

  • Robust construction and consistent performance
  • Intuitive monitoring via iSolarCloud
  • Strong warranty and established track record
  • Trusted brand with local support

Ideal for customers who want a high-quality system with minimal ongoing management.

Why your inverter choice matters

Your inverter determines which battery systems you can use — these components must be compatible and work together as a single system.

Choosing the right combination ensures:

  • Efficient energy use across your home or business
  • Smooth battery integration
  • Reliable long-term performance

We’ll guide you through the options to make sure your system is set up properly from day one — and ready for the future.
